Decision Notes 001: a green check is not an architecture verdict

By SYSLUMEUpdated 13 September 20261 min read

What to ask before accepting a passing architecture gate.

The decision: should an implementation move forward because its architecture check is green?

The evidence: in SYSLUME's fictional example, a corrected Billing import passes a specific source boundary rule. That result tells us about selected imports in three Python files. It tells us nothing by itself about SQL writes, runtime behavior or whether service extraction is justified.

Ask these three questions

  1. Which source and policy version did the check inspect?
  2. Does a deliberately invalid example fail?
  3. Which important risks are outside this check?

The next step: before adding more gates, write down one claim your existing gate can support and one claim it cannot. Put those limits beside the result.
